Love Hays and Soph xxx

Soph: Before we begin, we are grateful to live and work on land that holds the stories of the Dreamtime. We pay our respects and honor the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present & emerging and acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of our First Nations People.

Soph: Today we welcome the stunning Lauren, who is the founder of Heat Healer, a direct-to-consumer health & wellness brand focused on developing the world’s best heat therapy products. Their flagship product - the Heat Healer Infrared Sauna Blanket - offers all the same benefits of a traditional infrared sauna, experienced at a fraction of the cost and in the privacy and convenience of your home.

Hays: Through her own health and wellness passion and journey, Lauren became obsessed with the amazing health benefits you get from regular sauna use. Everything from better detoxing, relief from aches & pains, improved sleep, burning calories and just all round feeling amazing both physically and mentally after a sauna session.

Soph: Saturday mornings with Lauren (pre-kids) was always well spent with a bunch of friends at the Bondi Icebergs Pool and Sauna overlooking the famous Australian Bondi Beach. Now known as “contrast therapy” Lauren and her friends would split their early morning routine between the sauna and the icy salt waters of the beach pool.

Hays: The problem though is that access to a sauna is often inconvenient and expensive (and sometimes unhygienic having to share with so many people. Lauren especially found this to be the case as she was juggling life whilst raising three young kids (3 kids in two years as her second pregnancy was a surprise TWINS) while also designing and project managing her new family home and working out her next career move after coming off maternity leave. The Saturday mornings at Bondi Icebergs were sadly no longer practical to her new life as a busy mom.

Soph: Heat Healer was launched in late 2019 from Lauren’s hometown of Bondi Beach, Australia and has now grown into a company that operates across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.Prior to founding Heat Healer, Lauren started her career at accounting giant Ernst & Young before making the career switch to sales and marketing roles for some of Australia’s leading fashion and FMCG companies including a seven year stint at the Australian arm of the Brazilian born footwear label Havaianas.

Hays: She also has a passion for interior design having studied architecture before switching to and completing her Economics degree at The University of Sydney. Her home is her latest masterpiece which was completed in July 2020 and we are lucky enough to be sitting in it with her now…

Soph: Welcome, welcome! Now, to get us all PUMPED- what's a funny Motherhood story for us?

Hays: So, 3 kids in 2 years- How did you bloody do it? Did you use a PUMP for the twins? Talk us through your feeding journey.

Soph: What does a day in the life of Lauren look like? Like an absolutely chaotic day as we love a dose of reality ?

Hays: Talk us through Heat Healer and you are in POOSH now just to name drop one of the many retailers (sold out too - go you)…You launched in the States before here, talk us through that?

Soph: Now, we understand that you are the go to mum as you were the first to have babies in your friendship circle. I think you even gave Hays some Motherhood advice in the bathroom toilets at an engagement party. What has been the biggest challenge of Motherhood for you? The most Beautiful?

Hays: Do you remember how your mental health was in the 4th trimester and how it is now?

Soph: What do you do for you?

Hays: How do you find parenting 3 kids that are all so close together in age?

Soph: What was starting solids and sleep like for you and the babies?

Hays: How do you navigate wearing so many hats as a business owner and home designer etc!?

Soph: What advice would you give to any mum in the thick of it all or with 3 kids in 2 years!?

Hays: Three words that summarize Motherhood for you?

Soph: Thanks so much for giving us your time. You can find out more about Heat Healer at https://au.heathealer.com, the buzzy Bondi Beach luxury wellness brand focused on developing the world’s best heat therapy product, and links will also be in our show notes.
